Friday January 16, 2026 to Sunday January 18, 2026. This is Black and Indigenous People History of Florida about these battles. Friday January 16, 2026 at Maroon Mini Film Festival at 5:30pm showing 'Quillmbo' about Maroon in Brazil with Carlos Diegues. Saturday 10am to 3pm film screening about the Maroon Settlements in the USA, Bahamas, Trinidad, Jamaica, Suriname, Mexico, Honduras, and a special feature film 'Maluala' by Sergio Giral from Cuba. Events will be held at the Tabernacle Church 801 8th Street in West Palm Beach FL 33401 for the film festival. Rodney Baltimore interviews Vice Mayor Richard Campbell of Lauderhill, FL and President of the Caribbean American Soccer Association (CASA) for the Youth Soccer Tournament Wednesday January 15, 2026 to Sunday January 18, 2026. Six teams will compete in the Soccer Tournament including an All Star Team from Jamaican West Indies other teams include: Rush, Esp, Plantation, Jamaica, Tekkerz. Games are free and will be played at the Lauderhill Sports Complex 7500 West Oakland Park Blvd Lauderhill, FL at 6:30pm nightly with the exception of the Sunday January 18, 2026 game at 5:30am. Patron are asked to bring non-perishable items to help with relief effort due to Hurricane Melissa that impacted Jamaica. Also any school supplies to be donated to Nebb High School in Jamaica.
