HOT 105 Honors Juneteenth — Black Freedom Day
On June 19th, we celebrate Juneteenth, also known as Black Independence Day. a powerful reminder of our strength, our struggle, and our freedom.
It was on this day in 1865, in Galveston, Texas, that the last enslaved Black Americans were finally told they were free , more than two years after the Emancipation Proclamation had been signed. Union General Gordon Granger delivered that message, and with it, the promise of a new beginning.
Juneteenth is more than history, it’s a legacy. It’s about truth, resilience, and the continued fight for justice.
HOT 105 stands with our community as we honor the journey, celebrate the progress, and keep pushing forward.
